Feasibility study for the track (SIA Phase 21)

Like many regions in the Balkans, the North Macedonian city of Tetovo is also struggling with transport problems. The infrastructure dates back to the communist era and has been under-maintained since independence. The national borders present major obstacles to new construction.

RUBI Bahntechnik has a site in the Balkans and is committed to regional development. Our aim is to pass on the Swiss planning philosophy of "concept before concrete" and the corresponding expertise. We are doing this for Tetovo as part of a feasibility study for a tram line. The approximately seven-kilometre-long line is to be built partly on an existing railway line and connect the railway station with the University of Tetova and the South East European University.

The study includes concepts for planning the infrastructure and timetable. We are also working with the city administration to determine the potential for extending the line beyond the Tetovo region - for example to Gostivar.
